Mark Heckman – CEO, Retail Strategy & Execution

Mark is a retail industry veteran with broad experience based in a mix of retail marketing, brand partnerships, category management practices and consumer research. Over his career, Mark has worked with noted organizations in the supermarket industry to include positions of VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing Research at Marsh Supermarkets, VP of Marketing for Randall’s Foods, VP of Loyalty Marketing at MARC Advertising, and VP of Marketing with Valassis Relationships Marketing Systems.

In 1993, Mark led the analysis team at Marsh that composed and presented the Marsh Super Study, which was published by Progressive Grocer Magazine and in 1995 became a case study at the Harvard School of Business.

In 2006 to 2011, Mark returned to Marsh Supermarkets to lead the marketing efforts at the Midwestern chain as Vice President of Marketing, following Sun Capital’s purchase of the company. Upon completion of his duties at Marsh, Mark returned to his consulting practice where he currently works with retailers, marketing services and technology companies to develop successful programs and partnerships.

Mark is a past member and chairman of the Food Marketing Institute’s Consumer Research Committee as well participating in the recent Retail Shopper Marketing Commission founded by Coca-Cola and the In-Store Marketing Institute. Mark is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Business with a BS in Marketing and was honor graduate of the Defenese Language Institute, in Monterey, CA.

Dave McGuigan – Business Development, Growth Strategy
Dave has over thirty five (35) years of advanced marketing and business development experience. His career started when he developed a novel educational outreach program for the NHL Detroit Red Wings using injured and retired players. His sports experience includes leadership roles with the Red Wings; IMG (International Management Group); Dennis Connor Sports; and the America’s Cup.

This experience has allowed Dave to work with senior decision makers at many of the largest consumer package goods companies, including Coca-Cola; Pepsi-Cola; Budweiser; Miller Brewing; Philip Morris; General Foods; General Mills; P&G; Unilever; and Johnson & Johnson to name a few.

During the 1990’s Dave worked closely with Jack Lewis and Marketing Resources, serving “As Counsel” to Jack in the implementation of the Marsh Super Study and as an on-going consultant with Marketing Resources and AC Nielsen in the development of a similar study developed for the chain drug store industry.

Dave is well versed in all forms of traditional and emerging media and will lead Trius Retail in its strategic positioning, marketing endeavors and partnership relationships.

Reid Meyers – Chief Legal Counsel 

Reid is a seasoned corporate attorney with a long record of successful business accomplishments. After law school in Atlanta, GA he practiced with a large management-side labor law boutique keeping the textile and carpet industry union-free. That broad seven year experience exposed him to a variety of businesses and unique business practices.

He then returned to his home state of Ohio to practice with his brother representing several Ohio county governments in negotiating labor agreements with their unions. After two years, he was contacted by a New York-based recruiter for a senior in-house role with a San Antonio based financial services conglomerate, USAA.

For the next 17-years, Reid was USAA’S corporate attorney handling corporate M&A , corporate litigation, employment, and corporate real estate transactional matters. USAA is a $85B financial services enterprise. He retired from USAA in 2004.

Mr. Meyers opened a private practice in San Antonio in 2004 and has founded and/or invested in several start-up companies since that time. Among them are Sports Development Corporation, Team Championships International, the Alamo City Golf Trail and the Texas Golf Hall of Frame. In addition, Meyers has assisted clients and provided legal advice for the organization and formation of many other companies, both private and non-profit. He serves on the board of several private companies and non-profilts organizations. In 2009, Mr Meyers was listed in the Who’s Who list of American Lawyers and the “Super Lawyers Sections” of the Top Attorneys in Texas.

William Dupre’ Technology Leader

Bill brings a rich array of technical expertise and entrepreneurial success to Trius Retail.  Bill has held senior level positions at both Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), and Nielsen.  In 1990, he founded VideOcart, one of the first in-store technologies that enabled advertisers to reach shoppers at the moment of purchase by recognizing their location within the store.  He has consulted with many of the top retailers and service providers in the Food, Drug and Mass retail channel to include Vestcom, Kroger, and Safeway.  Bill has extended expertise in patent applications and understanding the necessary requisites of technology to endure the exposure to the in-store environment.
